BLACK HOLLYHOCKS (Alcea rosea var. nigra)

These flowers are a real showstopper; growing tall spires up to 8 feet tall with large black flowers that are a deep maroon in the sunlight. This is a combination of standard black hollyhocks & compound petaled ones. They are not deer resistant, and can be considered invasive in some regions, as this perennial grows back from the roots every spring and spreads prolifically.
